Yeah, because if there's one thing that every Chicago Black Hawk fan wants, it's to dump that last year of franchise icon Patty Kane (for which he's owed, right now, $2.9 million) for FIVE F+++ING YEARS of Brendan Gallagher's $34 million deal. After all, what's $31 million among friends?

It would be a cold day in hell, before Patrick Kane would ever waive his NMC for Montreal.

And Erik Johnson isn't waiving for a team that's purposely tanking for Bedard.

Why on earth would CHI give up two seconds to take on the salary dump of EJ (if he even approved the trade)

CHI would more likely receive those picks smh

Hate to be picky, but if I was Drury I wouldn't trade Zachary Jones for Ian Mitchell. First of all we already have too many RD d man prospects.
Secondly it makes no sense trading Jones which is 2 years younger. I would argue that Jones is the better prospect too.

Montreal is rebuilding, they won't be in on Kane. Before you argue that he is one of the best players of all time, I know he is but we aren't trying to compete this year, we finished dead last last year and we want a shot at a top 5 pick this year, factor in our cap situation and Montreal passes.

At first I thought you were trying to be serious, and very bad at this game. Then you started trading for every player with a last name of Jones or Johnson. Well played sir.

Habs don't want Kane anyway. Maybe some people haven't noticed, but Habs are in rebuild mode, not trading 2 top prospects and a 1st for a dying star
We both agree though; trade is ridiculous. It's a lose-lose.

The trade literally solve your cap issues so idk what you mean by that. I understand not wanting to compete quite yet. But this trade is a huge help to the habs cap now and in the future....

You mistook my statement, we do not have cap issues. What I meant by that is that we do not need cap relief like you think, we can sign Dach and Primeau once Byron goes on LTIR. Everyone keeps assuming we need cap room but we don't.
