Calgary gets a useful bottom 6 right shot RW rental who will provide some size, grit and secondary scoring.
Calgary buries Nosek in the minors which saves almost as much cap this year as buying him out would and doesn't cost them anything next year. If they're lucky maybe they can flip Nosek somewhere else for future considerations or even pay someone a late pick to take him.

Boston gets Looch for the reunion tour while also gaining a 3rd round pick and enough cap relief to get within a hair of compliance.

Yup, I wasn't kidding when I said "I'm done with this site" in my last post there. I figured the abusive troll would turn on you next after I left. I think he made a new alias here shortly after I started posting here too. Some new account that claims to be a Senators fan first and a Flames fan second yet all he posts are trades that fleece Calgary hard and never anything on the Sens.

Besides the posting interface here is light years ahead of that one and the Trade Machine is awesome!

I see that. Makes it much easier to verify the numbers on this sites but I still gotta figure things out around here, might take me a bit lol

I don’t mind your trade but do we have to take Nosek back too!? Lucic @ 50% + 3rd/4th for Craig seems fair

Well without Nosek it doesn't help the Bruins cap situation very much at all. Taking him too is the sweetener that convinces Boston to do it. Also Smith is ideal for the Flames needs because he's a rental. No long term commitment giving the team flexibility next year when the Huberdeau and likely Weegar too extention(s) kick in.

Its an interesting take on the move - I mean Smitty would fit in nicely with Suter's coaching style (hard nose player with work ethic - some scoring upside as well). Not sure what to think on this one to be honest, which likely means it could fit the bill for both teams. Only concern would be who fills Nosek roll on the B's and unless they have someone out of camp they can leverage off the hop that may be the only sticking factor.

Yes exactly Smith would fit right in on a Sutter team.

As for Nosek I went through pretty much Boston's entire roster looking for a player who wasn't very good, a guy who wasn't worth his salary who Boston probably wouldn't mind dumping, made enough to fix Boston's cap issues but not so much he'd screw up Calgary's cap and Nosek was the only guy who fit. No doubt Boston's first choice of players to dump would be Foligno but he doesn't work for Calgary. Foligno makes too much isn't worth burying in the minors and Looch is better than him.
