Why on earth Hugues would trade 2 centerman on good contract for basically nothing?

only one of them is a decent contract but this helps the habs save money and cap to sign dach.

Dvorak at 4,5 is on a very nice deal. Have you look around the league what Center are paid. A 2 way centerman, great in faceoff dot, can play all phases of the game. A good comparable would be Charlie Coyle who earn a lot more money. Dvorak might not be a bargain but he is not overpaid. Fair desl for a players that have put consistent number in the past season!

it's a bit above market but nothing drastic.

he's not a 2 way center. he sucks defensively

a good comparable would be a one-way pius suter or a poor mans kerfoot

Montreal has the money and cap to sign Dach. They aren't going to trade Dvorak for a winger they don't need, a meh prospect they don't need and mid round pick. Let alone add Evans. They're not going to even stay on the line for that, it addresses exactly none of their needs.

saves them money and adds a draft pick and prospect to their pool. doesn't cost them much more than their 4c. frees up money next offseason too so they aren't handcuffed again.

Montreal doesn't need to save money. Its a future 4th, which is a nothingburger. Beaucage probably wouldn't even hit top-20 in Montreal's prospect pool, they're loaded with meh prospects already. Dvorak is their 2C, Evans is their 4C. Montreal has over 20 mil in cap space next season before Price goes on LTIR, they aren't going to be handcuffed again.

So again, Montreal gets nothing from this.

Legit every year other than last he was average to above average defensively. If you wanna use small sample sizes than Habs fans can use his njust below PPG pace when under MSL

It's not a good offer for the Habs but it is nice to see it turned around on them and see Habs fans getting irate. Now you know how Avs fans feel with the interminable trades for Sammy G for next to nothing or Dvorak for a 1st plus or worse Drouin for anything!

Stats show otherwise. Dvorak have had mostly defensive attribution and did well considering the team he played for. Is efficiencies on faceoff is a +.
He might not be a Danault, Bergeron or Cirelli but he is above the average forward.
