The chance of being hit by lighting while holding a winning lottery is far greater than Yzerman bringing Drouin to Detroit.

I have to ask, what makes you think that a team would take almost nine million in cap and give back 2.2 million in cap, thus adding 6.8 million to their cap in a year where the cap has not risen much and only get a 2nd round pick that is a year away? Most teams in the last couple of years have paid dearly for that space, but now all of sudden you expect some from of discount.

Please answer as I would like to understand the thinking behind this trade.

Just and FYI, Yzerman and Drouin have a bad history, so there is also that.

There also a fact to take in consideration, Byron won't be playable for few time because of injury which mean is contract will be on LTIR and both contract also finish this year's. We don't care to have cap hit right now next year there a **** ton of contract that gonna expired. Byron, Dadonov, Drouin, Monahan, Allen. That around 20m that gonna free up next year. Hoffman will have only one year left and could be buy out if need or trade with 50% salary.

The contract I don't like is Armia because he won't be easy to move out and have no utility to the team. Some could say Gallagher contract but that the thing we need to live with. It's not the 6.5m that bad but the number of year. If it would have been around 2 to 3 years again that could be more easier to life with it.
