A Kane trade will probably be 1-2 first rounders and a second. A prospect and a solid roster player. Expect 50% RS and who knows, they might get an additional 3rd or 4th rounder.

You'll need another 50% retention by a 3rd party to make the cap work. Then you can re-sign McLeod and keep Samorukov on the roster (Koekkoek likely goes down).

Also, I highly doubt Lavoie makes the cut.

2 firsts and a second seem quite high for a 35 year old. What about
first
top 6 young roster player
prospect
cap dump ( need this to make it work, as kane is not going to the non contender)

Kane was 15th in scoring last year, and as stated he's in mid-30's. He's no longer a top-5 offensive player and never was very good defensively. I think a 1st + a decent player who comes with cap + a good prospect is about what they should expect.
