I hope they solve their waivers issue with left-side defense in a way that doesn't require both Samberg and Heinola starting in the minors.

Ya I’m hoping for a hockey trade even a stanley for a rhd version of stanley, healthy 8 and see how they fall, somebody buying Dillon at the deadline if the season goes bad, and final stretch with heinola and samberg in regular.

You’d think they would’ve signed Milano or Rodrigues no?

I personally think that they’ll made add 1-3 ptos to make camp competitive at F but not much else.

This really seems like a “sell the fans on competing” type of off-season when they haven’t actually done anything to sell the fans. I see this time crashing and burning out of the gates and selling before the TDL. Which I’m totally fine with. This draft is stacked and they should be trying to suck.

I just wonder if the fanbase is under estimating a kid or two, as far as the forward group goes, possibly lucious? I’m kind of in the believe it when I see it with perfetti, a lot of expectations of instant top 6 for him, will be interesting if he can stay healthy and live up to expectations. Will be interesting camp, hopefully some names added that hasn’t been thought of yet.

Lucius is a dark horse to steal a meaningful roster spot this year. I agree that it’s likely there’s a youngster we’re overlooking that the jets are not.

I have a lot of faith in Perfetti. He really looked like he was figuring out the NHL game before he got hurt. He was heating up. I hope he really breaks out.

Seemed a little weird to me, what the rumours had the jets attempting to buy in free agency jarnkrok and a similar 3rd line grinder types, thought we had a relative abundance. But possibly copy cat league and attempt at a colorado type turn around buys and keep the new coach happy.

I think Wiebe was the one who wrote that Heinen and Jarnkrok had better money offers from the Jets but signed elsewhere. That is a weird thing for TNSE to leak -- "we're trying but nobody likes us".

Apparently Heinen rejected more lucrative offers from other teams too so it wasn't just that he declined Winnipeg but of course all the Chevy defenders jumped on that tweet from Weibe with: "See!! See Chevys trying but guys just don't want to sign here!!"

I didn't hear that Jarnkrok got a better offer from the Jets, heard that they did try to sign him though.

I know Winnipeg struggles to attract free agents but just looking at the Jarnkrok and Heinen situations, who's looking like they could win a cup between Winnipeg, Toronto and Pittsburgh and which team looks the most likely of the three to miss the playoffs? Honestly if they looked like they were going in the right direction and didn't have so many off ice tire fires they could probably get a decent player or two signed.

Idk where Rodrigues will end up but I bet Milano ends up staying in Anaheim.

Really thought the Jets should've tried to sign Domi.

Like you said in another thread about Kerfoot awhile ago, these guys probably just end up with Lowry and have really unproductive seasons so does it really even matter if they sign one of these guys at this point?.. 😆😂

Not related, but I hope TSN gets someone good to do the play-by-play on TV. I am hoping Hextall (dry delivery) and Edmonds (only person who can make the word "scores" into a two syllable word) have been passed over.

Doesn’t sound like it’s Edmonds, not sure about hextall, she isn’t bad in between periods, but something awful play by play. Spoiled with the retiring generation

We can also probably rule out Munz, as he was replaced by Edmonds in that role back in 2014. Maybe there is a seasoned radio play-by-play announcer that wants a TV gig somewhere, but I have no idea about other NHL media markets.
