Puljujarvi: Re-Signed-$4.5M×3
Veleno: Re-Signed-$1.0M×1
Caufield: Re-Signed-$7.4M×7
Harris: Re-Signed-$3.1M×4
Harvey-Pinard:Re-Signed-$1.2M×2
Dipietro: Re-Signed-$0.925M×2
-Byron, Pezz, & Drouin won't be re-signed. Anderson & Monahan are on the block based off of injury status & production.
-$14M in space to start the 23/24 season, with more the year after. I can add to the Hronek trade, picks, prospects, or Anderson if they want.
-EDM trade is a win for them defensively.
-DET trade is fair(they won't be competitors right now, and it frees up space to sign Seider, bring in Edvinsson in the future, and they can trade Dvo later, while gettinh 2023 picks, a prospect that wants to be in the US, & an underrated prospect)
-Philly needs to suck it up, admit they need a rebuild, and start bringing in assets(as well as hiring better scouts)
-Arizona gets 3 roster players under $4M each, but also receives 3 prospects, and a 2nd for a 3rd.
-Jets bolster a bad pp, and only take on 2 years of $2.3M and let go of a late pick.
-Puljujarvi will stay on that first line, and will help drive the play of Suzuki and Caufield, and can develop as what Anderson was trying to be, and what Slaf is projected to become, but less skilled.
-That second line can help protect Monahan, and is sneaky skilled. The two vets can help Slaf grow.
-That third line all have something to prove, and won't be great, but are looking to improve their play. The 4th line is OK, I don't expect it to be any good. Anyway, special teams should be much better than what it was. A lot of this banks off of what Martin St.Louis can do.
-Last season the Habs were the most injured team of all time. Even without Weber's 82 games out they'd be first. That's a pretty good excuse for a **** season. It should come as a warning to Kent and Gorton of the health of their players, and the importance of having better call-ups. They are going to be better next year, but this will make them better next year, and for years to come.
-The hope is that Farrell, Mesar, Kidney, Roy, Heineman, Beck, Hutson, and Engstrom reach their ceilings. Gallagher doesn't look like he'll be healthy enough to reach the end of his contract. He'll be bought out. So 3 years looks like:
-Hutson, Kidney, & Beck are still developing, & those 2023 picks look nice.
-There are good goalies like Ratzlaff & Erliden next year the Habs should jump on. Another right-handed d-man with Florida's pick would be nice(although Tourigny is a star to Pory Cronman, or something like that) Dragicevic and Brzustewicz would be realistic.
Future plans for this team are trading Monahan for anything we can get back as a rental with one year left on his contract for Veleno or the 2023 pick to come in. That same year Dickinson will be traded, and easily replaced.
A player that bolsters the powerplay, something the Devils, and Jets both are bad at. 2 years at $2.3M is nothing for him, and he'll play 3rd line minutes.
Another Nucks fan said the opposite. You shed cap for a guy who can actually score goals. If DiPietro is your problem here, I don't know what you're thinking. Nucks have a load of goalies at both levels with Demko & Martins in the NHL & Delia & Sylovs at the AHL level. DiPietro's agent has reportedly been trying to get a trade in, he wants his client to actually get play time.

In my first iteration of Price Hurt, The_Rocket said "Not sure about any of the other trades but that first deal should work great for Van"
There are better ways to use Pearson, Dipietro, and the pick imo, yeah Dadonov is an upgrade on Pearson offensively but we've got several strong offensive caliber players in our top 9 already. Our first priority at the moment isn't goal scoring its defense and supporting our goalie well. Trading Pearson who is one of our smarter defensive forwards doesn't seem like it'll benefit us

It really depends what Allvin and JR have in mind for future deals. Ridding Pearson's cap hit could open up JT extension. While the following year, Dickinson and Myers expire to address Petey and Pod. Not sure the math but I agree with you as well. Pearson can play bottom 6 where Dadanov cannot and takes opportunities from Hog away.

Serious question: do the Canucks re-sign Miller, or do they trade and reap the benefits before his stock can move? And who would you move instead of Pearson in a Dadonov trade? I'm trying to make it appealing.

The problem isn't value in this trade, cause the value is pretty even, it's just that there isn't room for Dadonov in our top 9 rn without taking opportunities away from Podkolzin or Hoglander. I've been on team trade Miller since March, I'm not opposed to resigning him but I'd rather get value out of him, plus I think if he signs for 6+ years the last couple years of it may be rough like it can be for other guys who sign into their mid-late thirties

I agree with your thoughts on Miller.
I know it's unrealistic, but would you trade Mikheyev instead? Still shed cap, and I never really like Mikheyev. I think he benefitted off of a 100% offensive team. End of day, Dadonov is only there for one year, he'd probably re-sign for less than his current $5M, but it'd still be more than you'd want.

Honestly, I wanna give Mikheyev a shot on the Canucks
Idk I think it looks pretty good. Upgrade Pearson to dadonov and free up cap space for next year. All it takes is a couple of spare parts to get it done. Plus frees up 750k this year to sign another dman
