Can't see you getting a second for Barrie in this cap trade environment. But I do see them trading for him at a lesser cost

Way too much for Jakob Chychrun, Broberg and the 2 1st round picks. Should be more than enough.

Do you mean broberg? I wouldn't trade Bouchard and two firsts for him.

Well it's hard to say what they can afford until their deals are done with their two rfas. Oettinger's ask seems pretty crazy for a guy with less than a 100 nhl games where he's played well but not special.

Yeah, that's an overpay, but Arizona's demand has been reported to be really high. Really, REALLY high, so maybe that offer is over by only Puljujarvi or one of the firsts.

Dallas has $10.3 million in cap space right now, but that's without having re-signed Jason Robertson and Jake Oettinger, who are almost certain to take up virtually every penny of that. So I agree with you don't think that Dallas would be interested in Barrie.

Makes more sense. Bouchard and broberg are not close in value.

Yeah broberg and two firsts is a tonne. Chycrun is good. Even great. But he isn't a superstar. He's an average first pairing d. Does his good cap hit make him worth THAT much?

Yeah Bill Armstrong is grossly overvaluing Jakob Chychrun, His value is nowhere near a blue chip prospect and 2 1st round picks that's equivalent to 3 1st round picks

I find the negotiating through the media/back channels with high asks and staying firm fascinating. It can work (oettinger looks like he's going to get way more than he's proven he's worth, and marner did too). But it can fail too (Eichel clearly didn't get max return).

Chycrun is a very good player with a better contract. But he is a step below a franchise player. Wanting that much for him seems crazy. But it seems a part of the hockey community has just accepted he's worth that much because people keep saying it until it's true. Lol

Even THAT is too much for Chychrun. Too injury prone. Steer clear!!! Lol!

There's nothing about Chychrun's game that remotely puts him a "step below a franchise player". You're grossly overvaluing him. He's decent offensively but not good defensively - he's a 2nd pairing defenseman and being paid as such. AZ is just trying to leverage his ridiculous shooting heater playing against weak southwestern comp in the COVID season.

Reportedly Holland broke off talks with Arizona when they insisted Broberg be part of the deal, that was a dealbreaker for Holland. So Broberg +++++ just isn't happening.

He had a bit of a down year, but he was that damn good two years ago.

He was playing in a weak SW league in the COVID season and was on a shooting heater. That's not repeatable. The 21-22 season was more along the lines of what to expect.

Vs the top 4 teams in the SW, he was 32, 6-10-16 (COL, STL, MIN, VGK). Against the bottom 3 he was 24, 12-13-25 (ANA, SJS, LAK).

Wrong, 20-21, vs only the weak Southwest, was the anomaly.

18-19: 0.73 P/60 at 5v5
19-20: 0.86
20-21: 1.52
21-22: 1.05

As I showed above, this was driven by ridiculous shooting luck against weak competition. Here it is in all situations P/GP:

18-19: 0.38 P/GP
19-20: 0.41
20-21: 0.73
21-22: 0.45

Again, 20-21 was the anomaly, not 21-22.
