Avs would be better off holding onto that 1st and using it on a legit 2C nearer the deadline.

I don't think the Avs would pay what it would cost for that kind of retention.

Generally speaking legit 2Cs aren't available at the deadline. I guess the Avs can wait though, even if they're pretty shallow/top heavy right now.

looks like half the price of the retention is already paid. so mtl retain $1m or avs add something small

well mtl can pay someone else to do it that's up to them but the point is that the avs already paid for half of it.
