With Sorokin and Valarmov, Isles easily pass. they don't need a smallish goalie like DiPietro.

Forward group looks quite solid if Kuzemko can translate his game to the NHL and if Hoglander and Podkolzin can find another level to their game. Van will love Mikheyev.

Left D looks solid. Right D is hurting.

Schenn is a reliable 6/7 dmen. I assume Myers is fine just not at 6m a year. I would be okay with him as #2 right d. I don't know much about Poolman. What does he bring to the table?

In my opinion they really need a top pair right D men. If they can get that, their team looks quite competitive.

Poolman is better suited as a 6/7 guy and struggled early in the season being paired with Hughes and OEL which led to Schenn replacing him. He's a bit of a wild card with his migraine issues

Poolman is a fine 3rd pairing defenseman. Nothing spectacular, but he is capable of holding an everyday spot in an NHL lineup

When Poolman is healthy, he can hold down an everyday spot, I'd bill him as more of a 5/6 guy

Disagree isles probably take this. Given his waiver exempt status he could be sent down this year and could be a cheap backup next season if they pay top money to a star forward. If he doesnt pan out its just a 5th.
I would accept this deal.

agreed. Varly walks after this year and I would be happy giving Sorokin the vast majority (60ish) starts by 2023-24. Jakub Skarek has put up mediocre AHL numbers, Ken Appleby is a little bit of a journeyman (but I like him!), and Tristan Lennox is a couple years away. Getting another guy to throw in the mix as a $1Mish backup after Varlamov would definitely be worth a 5th to me.
