Description
According to CBS sports, here are the projected injuries to Boston as of 9/6/2022. Reilly and Bergeron are questionable for the start of the season, so I didn't do IL or anything for them, but consider the possibility they miss a few games. I think there are a few players they could look to bring in, possibly on PTOs that are then signed, to plug the gaps. You don't want to get off to a very slow start and bank on Marchand/McAvoy returning to save you.

DeHaan: for some reason he is unsigned, and at this point I think the most likely way he gets a contract is he signs a PTO and signs for under 1 million with a team. Lets say Boston gives him a shot. Rough estimate: 900,000.

Sonny Milano: Probably is getting the cold shoulder as a "product of Zegras". I don't think Boston wants their RW depth to be Wagner and Steen though. He hasn't been signed yet so I don't see a ton of leverage, but he did score 34 points. I say 900,000 again.

Tyler Ennis: He won't stay healthy enough to play every game, but he's tenacious and scores a little bit. 825,000.

Unfortunately I don' think there's any centers worth bringing in if Bergeron misses significant time. To make this money work I assume a few things. First, that Wagner gets waived again. He's definitely fallen from grace. Second, it seems like Grzelyck will be the first to return. If no one else has been injured (unlikely in hockey), they will still be ok cap wise until the others return. However, DeHaan and Clifton look like the ones likely to battle out for who gets waived/moved based on their play. When Marchand and McAvoy return, another D-man will probably be relegated. Marchand will probably push DeBrusk to the 3rd line, and either Zacha or Milano will have to move down based on their play. I think if Foligno's play doesn't improve, there is a good chance that to make the money work they either dump him like Backes, bury him, or buyout/release. If he is playing better, it is likely Frederic, Steen, and Ennis that are in danger of being waived. I would assume Frederic clears or is claimed by SEA/ARI/etc., Steen may not require waivers?, and Ennis clears or is claimed but at that point you have your depth back.

The last thing the Bs need is another LHD. They already have move one as it is.

HALL - KREJCI - PASTA IS GOIN THE BE THE LINE PLAYING TOGETHER. PLEASE PEOPLE STOP WITH THESE LINES

I also think theres a 0% chance they sign any forwards at all between now and the season.

DeHaan has much experience playing on the off side, hence why I had him as the 4th guy on the RHD depth chart. Umm, your lines comments....I'm not a Bruins fan so I just put them in order a certain way that made sense for me as I did this AGM, not because I claim to be all knowledgeable on the Bruins' chemistry. I would counter your 0% chance with the fact that your starting 3RW without any moves is Chris Wagner, someone the Bruins waived last year and played 1 NHL game, and it wasn't because he couldn't have taken a roster spot as he has before...its because they lost faith in him.

It’s actually studnicka, then lysell, then maybe Wagner.

They also have DeBrusk who will probably play the right, McLaughlin and Steen, and then also Nosek if necessary. All of those guys get spots before Wagner

They probably could use another dman, one who can play the right, but they won’t sign any more forwards. Their plan is to fill out most of the bottom six with younger guys, at least to start the year. They have Frederic, Greer, Studnicka, Beecher, McLaughlin, Steen, and Lysell who could all get playing time. Though they may have Nosek and Foligno taking up spots

Bergeron and Reilly will be good to go. Missing Studnicka who needs waivers (Steen as well to answer your question) and he should be up. 13 forwards + Lysell, McLaughlin, Greer, Lettieri are there. They don't need forwards. Worst-case, they invite a defenseman on a PTO for 1-2 games if they want to rest some players.
