ANA/DET?

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The thinking behind the Perry deal is to change up the core a little bit. Sure Perry is 4 years older, but he also has 3 less years on his deal with only a slightly higher cap hit. he would really help out on the second power play unit, while occasionally being thrown in on the first, and bring that winning attitude from Anaheim into our dressing room. I know he can be a pain in the ass and he is a bit of a pest, but at least he'd be doing it for our team and not against us.

I also got some feed back on the Howard move and retained some salary.

Also, both trades prior to expansion. Here's my protected list: G, Perry, Simmonds, Schenn, Coots, Filppula, Laughton, Ghost, Gudas, MacDonald (you know it'll happen, be honest), Howard

The only thing that scares me about this lineup is we are very young on the left wing side at forward.

And yes I have Laughton in the lineup. He looked ok in the lineup when he was here last year and, IMO, he didn't have a fair shake this year between the injury in training camp and the benching after 2 games. IMO he should have been in the lineup all year over VDV & PEB (same with Weal, but that's a different debate for another day).

Honestly, what's in it for the Wings? Cousins sounds like Tyler Bertuzzi, but smaller and 2 years older. We already have an older version of Bertuzzi (Abdelkader), and we definitely don't need 3 guys playing the same role.

Leier sounds like the type of guy we already have 3 of in GR waiting for their turn (not including the 4-5 we've lost to waivers over the past few years). No thanks.

Trading 5th round picks seems pointless.

I based the trade based on what TB got for Bishop from LA. I honestly probably could have put in a better prospect instead of Leier or Cousins. But the incentive is to make Mrazek the clear #1 going forward and getting Howard's deal off the books. To me, these teams are a match depending on which prospects DET wants.

Maybe they would, maybe they wouldn't. You never know what Bob Murray is going to do. I equate him to Bowman in the sense that he always has a move or two up his sleeve that no one sees coming. Could it take more than what I'm proposing to get him? Maybe. Would Hextall even think about this deal? Who knows. But that's why these are fun. I wouldn't be mad if they did get him, personally.

The Flyers should be trying to get younger not older. I don't care if Perry has less years on his contract. They can definitely get a better deal than that for Voracek.

I really like this team but agree with what others say, don't need to send DET both of Cousins and Leier just one will do. Would love Perry on the flyers but would hexy do it? Would Ana do it? Who knows? I think hexy would keep Jake just because of the age difference and when flyers will be contending Voracek will be the age Perry is now.
A trade I'd be looking to make before the expansion is adding a Dman who will be worth using that 3rd protection spot on, but who and what we trade to get that I don't know, cos as we know no-one is taking MacDonald and would need to add a lot if we were to move manning for someone worth protecting
