Vilardi is worth more than that. At least a 1st and a decent prospect.

Kings don't want picks, they will keep holding onto him unless someone offers a player who can address top-4 defense or slam dunk goalie prospect. So not happening.

I see, I wasn't sure what the ask might be or if he's even available but from an outsiders perspective, it seemed like the organization might not love him and he might have to reach his potential elsewhere.

I could be completely off the ball with that one though

Calgary has a surplus of defensemen, LD in particular.

Vilardi was a rushed center forced to play second line minutes changed just last year to wing, the Kings have done him a bit dirty in that way and he deserves the opportunity to grow. In this role, this is why Kupari will likely start in the AHL and one of Lias Andersson or JAD will see waivers. Vilardi showed some growth at the end of the season, so we hope he can build off that,

Not until we feel like he's not a fit in LA, just moved to the wing last season. Also, very unlikely we trade him within division.

Ah but you said "unless someone offers a player who can address top-4 defense" and Calgary can offer that.

Which one are you willing to offer because if it’s a player who doesn’t average over 18 min a night, that’s not a top-4 player,

Oliver Kylington averaged 18:10 a night in the top 4 for Calgary last year. Nearly all of it at 5v5.

I’d do It, the kings won’t, Kylington with Roy and having one of Clarke or Spence on the third line, we’d be lethal.

We’ll end up trading with someone in the East.
