Boston does none of that. Let’s look what you’ve done:
TOP 6:
Swapped a 25 year old 25g 40pt wing for a 32 year old 25g 40pt wing. Each with 2 years left. Eberle is not going to explode and become more, he is what he is. Debrusk can. After being put on 1st line he was on 30 goal pace. Also with Cassidy gone he likely has his best season as a pro. He’s also cheaper. It’s a loss.
THE D:
Swapped 3 number 5 type d men for 2. Forbort was brought in primarily to kill penalties. He’s their top d man for it. Zboril and Vali have same type of potential. Zboril before the injury last season looked really good and came into camp in the best shape he’s ever been in. Reilly would have been moved had they been healthy. In the end you did not upgrade the D, if anything it was downgraded. And with Grizz and Mac out to start the year you left them with only 5 healthy d men. Another loss.
THE FUTURE:
Poitras > Huckins/3rd. Another loss.
THE BOTTOM:
Swapped Nosek for Looch 50% retained. Honestly I don’t want either. Both cap hits exceed their value. But if i had to choose i prefer Nosek. Cheaper and more versatile. Swiss Army FW that plays anywhere, not well but anywhere, more importantly…plays C and wins faceoffs. Looch is a 20pt 200hit 4th line wing, full time slug. Foligno in a poor year 82 game pace was 16pt 210hits. He’s much better skater and better defensively than Looch, don’t need 2 of them. Another loss.
Bottom line in it’s entirety it’s just bad roster management and the lines are off as well.
Swap Pasta and Eberle. Swap Coyle and DK46.
