Um. Good luck with that. Both of those. Jake's not going to be easily moved unless the cap skyrockets next year (possibly not even then). And Zub is, like, the priority for Ottawa next year. (No, really. DeBrincat at least is an RFA so they have a little more time.)

Honestly I don't want to dump Jake, he's still very productive and furthermore he's a great guy in the locker room ... Fan and teammate favorite. He's only got 2 seasons left.

Jake is such an important leader for this team. I think two more years with Jake will serve KJ and Marchenko - and even Laine and Gaudreau - very well. He is also a guy I think JD would love to bring into the front office when he's done playing, and that would probably happen somewhere else if he's traded.

Plus the cost to unload him would have to include a 1st round pick and these upcoming two years are loaded with high-end talent. Makes zero sense to sacrifice that when he's still a very good NHL player, overpaid sure... but still producing at a high level.
