If pasta hit FA

Created by: Hawsie91

Team: 2023-24 Montreal Canadiens
Description
If Pasta decides to hit free Agency, why wouldn’t he Think about joining the habs?

It would be a similar to Panarin signing with NYR. A team that will have Cap Space and a young and upcoming team like the habs with good coaching and management. Especially if they get lucky to draft in the top 3 and get Bedard.

Yes he would be going to a rival but money talks

you're crazy to think Ottawa will give up a 2nd round pick to take on Armia and his contract. Montreal would be the one who would have to give us the 2nd round pick if you want Ottawa to take Armia. Also why is Ottawa paying a steep price for Armia but Vancouver barely have to give up anything for Dvorak.

Montreal won't be a bottom feeder is healthy, so, likelihood of Bedard is slim, Arizona and Chicago are making hard presses for that first overall.

it is a lottery though, so, it could happen.

But I can't see Pasta leaving for Montreal, taxes and the media here make it awful, Hughes would have to lean heavily on the Czech ties to even get a sniff of Pasta.

Armia's deal is awful and he's a 4th liner in Ottawa. Would be a disaster to trade for him, especially to give a 2nd for him.

I wouldn't take his contract if a 2nd would come with it

Ottawa would put themselves in cap hell to add a player that they have ZERO NEED for
