If Milano is good enough to earn a deal on his PTO Calgary offers more than that, gets a better shot at better minutes in Calgary too, stick with Virtanen

Going on all in typically means improving the team this appears to be going in the other direction. Paying to make the team worse isn't a plan I'd support.

only way Barrie moves is if a RD is coming back somewhere else

We can send you Wideman if you want the slightly better Defense for less offense.

Habs are moving 2.7 cap dump off the books and taking on a decent offensive RD and a middle 6 younger wing, and a 2nd that seems like a fleecing to me!

That's a ridiculous take and certainly not the actual reality of this

well you are a montreal fan so i will take it with a grain of salt.
as an impartial fan who isn't a fan of either team this looks pretty favorable for the Canadiens.

Barrie 7g 34A and a +4 RD at 4.5 is by no means a cap dump.
for reference the last 4 years of webber he averaged less points with a cap hit almost double.
Foegele 35G 76 points the last 3 years combined
Drouin - 15 goals 53 point the last 3 years combined
with the retention you get Foegele for the same cost as Drouin plus a 2nd and Barrie.

I just don’t see how that’s not favoring Montreal?
better winger the RD you guys need and a 2nd for a guy you guys want gone but somehow this is bad for montreal???

The only argument for MTL in this case is they can't afford to take any more cap right now as they're maxed out, but this trade in isolation is an overwhelming win for the Habs otherwise.
