The Kid Line 20

Created by: Breadman_10
Team: 2023-24 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 20, 2022
Published: Sep. 20, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Assuming that Dallas's pick (on a "bad" season) is within the 15-20 range and the Ranger's pick is 24-30, the deal may not be perfect, but it's merely an idea that has merit to be thrown around, even if I have to trade someone bigger for the deal to work, such as Kakko or Othmann, but I figured 2 younger players with NHL level experience wouldn't be a bad foundation to build off of for discussion.
Originally I had a trade as a cap dump for Goodrow but IMO he's fine as a player and it's unlikely any team would take his cap hit anyways, except for probably Fletcher lmfao.

Picks 15, 24, Chytil, and Kravstov probably don't get you a top 5 pick. The top 8 is disgusting

Yeah it's why I considered adding Othmann or Kakko to the deal, but just look at the description.

I'm not pulling any punches, he blows hot ass, a deterrence on the ice, he should be like a 8/9th defenseman option god forbid we ever have to get to that point.

This is pretty far fetched even if they included Othmann or Kaapo. For arguments sake, I don't think any team would pass up on a generational talent like Bedard or either of Fantilli and Michkov given they are A+ franchise level talents themselves. All 3 are guaranteed assets unlike we've seen in years and will accelerate the rebuild process to a point that adding let's say Kaapo, and playing the lottery on a mid 1st and late 1st simply just can't accomplish. You can build a team around any of the aforementioned names, whereas you can't around any of the players you are mentioning and highly unlikely with a mid 1st or late 1st unless you strike gold.

That all said, your idea has a lot more weight if Chicago ends up with the #5 pick or we were talking last draft year. The top 3 picks this year just have bonafide stardom all over them that passing up on them for more lesser assets would be a mistake.

He's got an 800k salary, you can just bury him in the AHL without penalty.

I'm not trying to be mean here, but that CHI trade has absolutely ZERO merit. I know you are still high on that ABSOLUTE FLEECE of DAL and think that Drury is a magician, but you need to come back down to earth a little bit.
