If the oilers have the Cap space to make this work this is a no brainer move, especially if that 1st winds up being 32OA

Yeah I think It's a fair trade given the need for a Right Dman and Parise is compensation piece like Zjac to secure the first round pick

Why take Klefbom back in that Edmonton deal? His deal is up at the end of the year, so it's not like you can use him as future LTIR space if needed. He's just a non-asset at this point.

Mayfield alone should get back the equivalent of a 1st and a 4th based on what what the D market looked like at last year's deadline and his affordability with retention. Parise is in the same boat as a useful bottom 6 winger who could be retained down to $375K - Andrew was much less productive last year (4-11-15 in 56 GP) and Colorado gave up a 5th when San Jose was able to retain him down to $500K, so I gotta think Parise retained (if he maintains last year's production) fetches at least a 3rd.

The only thing is, it wouldn't really make sense to trade Klefboms contract as Smith will still be on LTIR, would make more sense to move a roster player instead, maybe Foegele has a bounce back and has some value and the trade could be Foegele, a 1st, and a 3rd

I took back Kelfbrom to make the cap fit for both teams, wasn;t sure if Kelfbrom was going on LITR or not
Given the fact Mayfield going to play less minutes on the Isles this year compared to the last three teams might not be willing to give up a first for a current bottom pair Dman.
Parise is 38 years old I do not see him repeating his production from last year even if he is paired with Barzal

The isles can't take players back on multiple years they would be trying to shed money long term what about Mike Smith is he going to come back from LTIR

Edmonton isn't in the market for a top-4 RHD, even if Mayfield has that capability. Parise is a non-factor too, he wouldn't be top-9 in Edmonton... basically, I'm struggling to see why Edmonton would give up - for the first time ever - a 1st for a rental.

And Klefbom is on LTIR and has been for years. Including him does nothing for Edmonton's cap situation.

How can you say Edmonton is not in the Market for a Top 4 RHD . The only RHD better than Mayfield is Bouchard. Ceci and Barrie can't even Defend. Barrie at this point is only effective on the powerplay. Mayfield is much better defender then Kulack while putting up the same production. EDM has a major weakness on Defense

If you were paying attention you'd know that Ceci was hard-matched against Elites last year and did just fine. He's 1st pairing on a Conference Finalist. Mayfield isn't playing ahead of him.

Unless there's an injury or player going out in a trade, the Oilers don't have a roster spot at RHD that they'd be willing to part with a 1st for.

Barrie is - and always has been - effective at 5v5. Pay attention.

He is only a powerplay specialist on a talented offensive team. No one wants him

That was one year look at the past three years Toronto couldn't wait to give him away

Wrong. He's one of the top 5v5 scorers in the league with a positive GF% Rel in 8 of the past 9 seasons.

1RD might be only a 1 year look, but it's the most recent year and is Ceci's current position. Maybe it speaks mostly to Darnell Nurse's effectiveness, but the fact is that Ceci is 1st pair in Edmonton right now.
