NSH doesn't consider that. The asking price is too high, they don't need another middle six forward that badly, and they don't have the cap space for Dvorak.

You are right about the cap, TBH I forgot to check that but I did also put in the disclaimer that it could be any team for a similar G prospect and 1st

Hoffman's buyout is dirt cheap. I'd rather go this way next offseason instead of taking on Bob's $10Mx4. The new management wants to keep Allen around too, they were really impressed by him when they took over.

Even without a buyout, Hoffman can be shipped for future considerations to a team looking for additional goal scoring.

or maybe even a 6th rd pick if salary retention is involved (which would be equivalent-ish to the buyout scenario).

These Bob to Montreal trades need to stop, Montreal doesn't need Bob, Montreal shouldn't even want Bob, he's marginally an upgrade over Allen and costs 3.5x as much. Montreal got a 1st to take Monahan, it would take some serious sweetening to take on Bob at $10M for several years

I agree about the marginal upgrade on Allen and his contract being horrible but it also helps us clear up some of the mess of the forward group and we get a good winger prospect and a 2nd back as well. I am not saying it is a perfect scenario cause lets face it Bob is 34 and signed until he is 38 and is signed for Price money as well. I guess you could add a 2026 1st but that is such a long way off it's almost not worth it and the Cats prospect pool is really really thin, so I was looking at it like what can we dump on them that helps us as well.

Montreal probably has one of the deepest prospect pools in the NHL right now, the big issue isn't Forwards for them (Slaf, Ylonen, Roy, Heinemen, Mesar, Kidney, Beck, Tuch, Kapanen, Farrell) , it's RD (They have Mailloux, and that's it) and G (Primeau)

And all that excludes them having 5 first round picks in the next 3 years, and excludes any additional picks they can get come TDL for some movements (depending on how Monahan, Dadonov, Hoffman, Drouin, perform).

I know, but for each forward we move out ie Hoffman and replace with a younger guy (Slafkovsky) we need a replacement in Laval as well. As I said though Florida has no RD or G prospects worth asking about and their 1st is 4 years away. I was more just looking at freeing up forward positions without strengthening the team too much rn. Maybe I was a bit light on the return from Florida but I just don't see too much else we would be interested in lol.

I agree with you, entirely.

Thought your forgetting a few things, Beck, Tuch, Kapanen, and Farrell aren't signed to ELC contracts.

So, Hoffman/Dadonov/Monahan/Drouin go away, someone from Laval goes to the big club, then you replace them in Laval with one of the newbies above.

I get your intention, and I agree with the premise, I just don't think Florida is the right partner for those movements to address the issues Montreal has depth wise.

Logically you would trade away players to fix weaknesses, not create log jams at positions of strength.

Buffalo has top young goalie talent in Luukkonen, Levi and Portillo. Maybe find a way to pry one of those three away.
