Only player on their roster of interest to the Ducks is Meier and maybe Feraro, and we're not giving up any young roster players for them. Picks and prospects only.
It's hard to imagine a rebuilding team like Anaheim being interested in a 33-year-old winger who's both expensive AND signed for 5 seasons. As intimated by my friend @GiggyWithGibby, that contract may start to look really, really bad in 2024-2025.
We will not be moving our 2023 1st either I’d imagine no matter how we are playing, this draft is absolutely insane — I have a whole list of guys I want from it, now we just need to find like 3 or 4 or even 5 more 1st round picks …
I think all of these are unfairly and heavily lopsided for the Sharks. The only players on the Sharks roster who would return a 1st are Hertl and Meier, maybe Ferraro if he can add some more offense to his game this year. I get why people are scared of Couture's contract but getting the maximum value out of that contract likely comes from him finishing his tenure as captain of the Sharks, he won't be moved (and certainly not without any retention)
