Drake on the 4th line is just capfriendly on a phone being dumb. I meant to put him on the 2nd line

Don't agree with this at all. Any team in on Severson, and there will be a bunch starts with a 23 1st. After that, Devils will be eating a bad Hamonic contract to make money work. Boucher is partial payment to give Ottawa the deal over other options as well as payoff making money work.

It's still a matter of taking on that $3m that would be tough to move otherwise. What I would say is the Devild would likely be eating 50% on Severson.

yea and hes still a rental, giving up 2 first for a rental just isnt a good move, also hes an offensive minded dmen pairing him with chabot isnt a great idea imho

But is Boucher really qualifying as a real 1st rounder with how he's developed? He didn't blow away the OHL last year. Just being drafted somewhere doesn't make that your value anymore.

Why dump Zaitsev at the deadline?

Sens will and should keep him this season. They have the cap space this season, they could even send him to the AHL to help them or keep him in case of injuries.

He will cost way less to dump next off-season, particularly if they opt to pay his 2 M$ bonus. Then he would be an overpaid 6th/7th D-man at 2.5 for just 1 season. Small dump

Hamonic is UFA at the end of the season and this ACGM is for the trade deadline...

Plus, he only makes 3.0 and can still play. Sens don't really want to trade him, he's a stop gap for this season

He's barely worth a 3rd round pick IMO. Which is why he won't be traded. Might as well "hope for the best"
