Yeah let's imagine that you're nearly $10,200,000 over the cap and don't even have a full roster.

i mean, Mikheyev's over paid by more on his own than Tavares is, so its not really close

Tavares is an 8 million dollar player. Mikheyev is a 3 million dollar player. Tavares is more overpayed

I don’t see how Hyman has such a bad contract. Dude already has 38 goals in an Oiler uniform, and the going rate for top six forwards is way higher than $5.5M. Keep in mind he cost nothing but capspace to acquire, and fits real well with the character of the team. Also his decline due to age should coincide with a skyrocketing salarycap, so they’ll be able to augment the roster to fill in the gaps. How is this not at least a decent signing for the team?

because of the term. if it was a 3 year deal it would be great, but a guy at his age with his injury history and playing style is going to decline rapidly. And the cap skyrocketing isnt a good bet, it was supposed to skyrocket 3 years ago when the leafs signed their big deals.

Imagine there's no salary cap
It's easy if you try
Toronto gets all the players
That they can buy
