I have not seen, read or heard anything about it, but if his options are AHL in Utica or NHL in Tempe, I would assume he would waive for NHL spot.

(Also notable that he hasn’t been sent down to AHL yet…so they may be looking to trade him)

It does from the aspect if they eat 50% again and he's just $850k for a team that needs warm bodies and has no cap room.

Arizona’s goal of the season is to be bad. They have traded off and not resigned all players from last year that could make the roster rn. Their goal is to lose so why would they take on cap space for free when they aren’t trying to be better? Johnsson is a cap dump
