Without bashing the OP, I'm genuinely curious as to how they'll make "it" work. Gotta think there's going to be a well timed injury coming up. Being that close to the cap can't be a coincidence.

Oh for sure, the incredibly dumb point I mentioned could be something like "lose a player to waivers because we can't get fair value in a trade and no one will take them without a sweetener right now".

Really? He was fine last season. 15 goals, 35 points, a plus player playing 3rd/4th line minutes. What is befuddling why the Jarnkrok was signed 2.1m X 4 and he has rousing 4 assists in his 17 games with Calgary. Leafs could have Robertson, Steeves and Gaudette on the lineup instead of one Jarnkrok.

But going back to 20 man roster. Yea it's dumb as you said. But what is even dumber (painful as Leaf fan) is that there isn't cap to get the needed quality bottom enders that good/very good teams need.
