Description

It will be interesting to see what goes on with Meier. SJS is going nowhere anytime soon (which is a shame because I love them) so he might not want to stick around. They really should have sold off Hertl and started the rebuild.

I know the trade needs more but McMichael is young, very skilled and has 60+ point potential. Depending on what Strome does this season he could prove he's a consistent 2C to line up behind Hertl giving them a young skilled 1-2 punch down the middle. I also added a 1st in a stacked draft. It's a good start and they can work out what more needs to be added.

Not a bad top 6 at all and I'm sure they'll add 1 more piece with their high draft pick this upcoming summer.

he wouldnt play over ovi but thats an interesting possibility. doubt iorio is nhl ready next year and the cap should go up by one but this is something to potentially look into

I would want Chesley, ‘23 1st plus for sure for Meier from the Caps, not sure they would be willing to give up the assets with how little they have in the prospect pool

I would definitely give up

1. choice of mcmichael, lapierre, protas
2. choice of 23 or 24 first (depending on what SJS thinks of how the caps will trend)
3. one other prospect not named Miroshnichenko

for Meier, and feel like that would be a pretty fair price.

That's why I wanted to grab someone like Meier to lessen Ovi's time a little bit.
