So the Caps would have:

1 2nd round pick, 3 4th round picks, 1 5th rounder, and 1 6th rounder in 2017. And in 2018 an extra 3rd rounder.

For Bonino and Gagner we needed a 3rd line center to fill Eller's role. Gagner would be cheaper but I made the salary 2 million because that would be around the salary Bonino would get. An estimate for Gagner would be 2yr/1.25 million.

      Don't understand all the Johnson to Caps trades, why get a 2nd line center to play 3rd when we need more at the wing? Drouin makes way more sense. Second line Tom Wilson looks god awful

      I'd have to agree with this. Drouin wanted out, they'll throw that money at Johnson and get what they can for Drouin and I'd give up Carlson for him. But I do kinda like the idea of sending Holtby out and keeping Grubauer if we can convince VGK not to take him. Maybe sign Bonino as 3rd line center if Eller is out. He always kills us

      Vatanen is out but that could give the young guys valuable playing time early in the season that would payoff in the postseason

      This is good. At this point I see Burky sliding to the right as opposed to Ovi. I would also put Connolly on the third and Wilson on the fourth line just because of the skill difference. Other then that, I like the youth route with the defense and like that you used Holtby to bring in a good package.
