Strength for Weakness

Description
Chevy better be on the phone with VAN regarding Garland. If there was ever a time to move out a dman for F help it’s now. Not sure what needs to be added, but I haven’t loved pionks game and this move opens up a spot for Heinola to play.

Jets desperately need middle 6 help. Adding garland allows for wheeler to be moved to the 3rd line and adds F depth. Garland and PLD would be pricks to play against.

You're not wrong Rick but that bottom six isn't a strength either.

The jets have too many high paid vets, the “strength” is the amount of bodies and $ tied up on the blue line. They needed to move one out this summer and didn’t. Nows the time to make the move from the “strength”.

Secondary scoring is a much bigger issue than most realize.

That's a thing when The Bowness Hockey™ gets established.

The sad thing is that this had been a known issue for years in Winnipeg. Maurice and Bowness run the same type of bottom 6, but, Chevy could make things much interesting if he brought a middle six winger like Garland in. It forces one of Wheeler or Garland to play 3rd line, which adds much needed depth to the jets. Bowness seems to spread the minutes out much more than Maurice did, so adding talent to the middle 6 should help. Also it’s a tragedy that Bowness has put Perfetti with PLD and Wheeler, none of them shoot the puck lol.

If only you still had Laine.

And also Roslovic. Quality depth guy for you.

Why does wheeler need to be on the 3rd line?

What a TERRIBLE ****ing trade for the Jets it was!

And drafted Lundell instead of Perfetti and Raty instead of Chibrikov... 🙄

The Jets bottom six has never produced well so the thought is if Wheeler (or Garland if acquired) were put on the 3rd line they might be able to get some production out of it that's at least in line with what a 3rd line should average.

Like mentioned above, jets hardly get any bottom 6 production. It doesn’t have to be wheeler, but he’d look good with two other big bodies in Barron and Lowry. The idea is just to add forward depth to increase secondary scoring.

I was hoping for Jarvis over Lundell and Perfetti he’s a Winnipeg guy would’ve never wanted to leave

Would’ve been an incredible pick, but would’ve been seen as a reach at the time. Perfetti was thought to be a top 7 talent. I was losing my mind when both Perfetti and lundell were available.

It was the big Finnish center for me, the Jets needed another center and Lundell was said to be the most NHL ready from that draft, considering where the Jets were at they really should've drafted him.

I mean he’s only 6’1 185 which is average in the NHL. Jarvis is also a center they’re just playing him as a winger. I thought Lundell was also good choice but I think Jarvis just has better offensive upside plus he’s surprisingly good defensively. Lundell would’ve been a solid center with Laine maybe get that Finnish connection but then we traded him.
