MTL is not in any rush and don't need to do a move to get cap out urgently.

Would I like Mike Hoffman out of the team, for sure but I mean I can live with him until is contrat expired. If I can have a trade that cost not much to get rid of him I am okay with it but not necessarily wanting him gone to use a first or a second round pick.

Also next year we got few contract that end like Dadonov Drouin Byron that will bring back enough space. And that without thinking IF the NHL will permit the limit cap space to growth up to what is rumor to be (around +4m space)

I wouldn’t. I’m not giving up a 1st to move Hoffman when you could just buy him out after this season. If you don’t want him on the roster now, you can just scratch him. This makes no sense.

I get what they’re trying to do, but they didn’t consider all the option. Habs can just buy him out after this season. If we wanted to move him we definitely wouldn’t attach a 1st to him.
