That Arizona trade is brutal. Lucic alone at 50% is worth more than those 2. And thats really saying something

Terrible Trade with ARI for CGY

Konecny's small and soft, I'd much prefer Conor Garland and I wouldn't want to give up Dube or Klapka either

Konecny is not at all soft. He's like a right-handed Mangiapane---like a little honey badger. He would be an amazing add---a Mangi-Kadri-Konecny line would be so much fun.
Garland would be a real good add, too. But Konecny would be better IMO. Timo Meier is still my first choice, but these guys might be more realistic depending on the directions their teams go from here. Garland seems much more likely to be made available for a reasonable price, though maybe VAN would be hesitant to trade to a division rival.

I agree you try to avoid including Dube in the deal. But Adam Klapka is not at all an asset you worry about including in a trade for a much needed F upgrade. 22 years old and signed as an undrafted free agent simply because he's huge. And he's not even a fighter. NHL ceiling is very limited. If someone is willing to give you value for him, you jump at the opportunity.

Good Assessment, but I’d keep Klapka. Big Man with Soft Hands who can Skate.

Matthew Phillips and Walker Duehr or Martin Pospisil and Mathias Emelio-Petersen would be better Trade Sweeteners imo

I'm not sold on Klapka yet. I appreciate the allure of adding a 6'8 monster who can skate to your lineup. Just not sure there's enough there for me to see him as an every day NHLer yet. Maybe if he puts up some numbers in the AHL this year he'll win me over.

But I would have no problems including Phillips or those other guys as sweeteners. Those aren't guys you need to prioritize and hold up getting a deal done.
