I don't think the Sens are interested, they could re-sign DeBrincat for longer than Marner's signed. Or trade DeBrincat for a legit top 4 RD. Keeping him over Marner gives them more options.

No retention and picks need to be added for us; at least two to three 2nds or a 1st and a 2nd. Marner is a 15-20 point higher scorer than Debrincat.

OR - Marner for Batherson, Formenton, Stutzle and a two 2nds (1st and 3rd)

Toronto overvalues players like this. I think this would be a fair trade.

We already have Batherson and Giroux playing RW, so swapping DeBrincat for Marner doesn't make much sense.

Also, we are not trading for a player who has an enormous amount of signing bonus money left to be paid out.

Debrincat has 2 40-goal seasons and 1 30-goal season, marner only has 1 30-goal season.

Also your value for Marner is insanly out of whack he has an NMC and & +10 cap hit for only to more years, Stuzle and Batherson are already signed on good deals and Stuztle alone would would be an overpayment for marner, given age and contract status.

Also, Leafs can't afford Debrinkcat even with marner gone and no retention, if he puts up over 30 goals this year there is no way he comes in the same or lower than Marners number. I honestly worry the sens won't be able to afford him in the long run.
