Kings and Arizona decline, Bergevin would be fired if he offered up Matt Roy for a guy who could be had for a 2nd or 3rd rounder.

For L.A if it's not Edmundson I think they can find something else. I really like Roy profile.

For Arizona, it's all a question about what other clubs will offer. Hoffman is a dump salary for sure.... but Farrell and Harris are pretty solid young players. Also they receive two picks. I think it's pretty fair for Chychrun.

Yeah Roy isn’t going anywhere right now. That’d be dumb.

      Walker you can have

Drouin and Dadonov walking away from that much cash is hysterically delusional.

Roy played top pair minutes last season with Doughty out and is the Kings best shut-down player (arguably it's close between him and Mikey Anderson). With the Kings offense actually looking decent, solide defense will be prioritized especially after we lose Edler next season, the player the Kings need isn't with the Habs or that player has not shown themself yet.

      Kings defense top-4 is currently:

      Anderson-Doughty

      Durzi- Roy

The player needed should be offensively solid like Durzi, but provide much needed defensive value like Edler. It's a really hard profile to find.

Kings offer for Chychrun would likely need to be something like Turcotte, Walker, Durzi, 1st to even be in the game. Chychrun is too expensive, that's why I'd just prefer to wait on him, such an over pay for 2 seasons doesn't make sense for a player who declined last season.

Edmundson with at least 30% retention for Sean Walker and one of our 2023 thirds (depending upon the status of Edmundson's injury rehab) would seem to be fair value. Matt Roy is worth more than a first to us.

I can't see how in good conscience you can trade Jordan Harris. Aside from being precocious, and playing in the NHL directly out of university, he could have waited a few months in the off-season after his collegiate career was over and signed with any team in the NHL as a free agent -- contenders like Colorado, Tampa, Edmonton and Toronto would have been panting for him. Instead, he signed with the Canadiens. The optics of trading him away less than 6 months later would be awful.

      1st + Turcotte + Walker
      or
      1st + Durzi + Madden

Any more than that is an overpayment and the Kings shouldn't do it.

The Kings also like Roy for the same reasons you do. He's not going anywhere.

I agree with that being his worth, I just don't think that will be the ask from Arizona. This is why I'm leaning to out on Chychrun unless we get him at a discount.

I agree. However, the price on Chychrun has reportedly come down recently, with the current ask being "two first round picks or equivalents, plus", down from "four first round picks or equivalents, plus." Wait until the deadline and I think the "plus" will drop as well, and an offer like this will start looking real tempting to the Coyotes.
