Trading a really good top four righty d man, a second round pick, AND a former top ten pick with the potential to be an Ehlers level player FOR Ehlers is a bad idea. I love Ehlers but come on.

Personally I don't hate it.
Normally I wouldn't want to trade Holtz for an asset with less than three years of team control but I love Ehlers's game and would consider an exemption here.
I have also soured a little on Holtz and starting to question whether he'll ever reach his potential with the Devils.
If it was just Holtz and that 2nd I'd want the Devils to jump on this deal but I could live with the Devils dealing Severson here.
