nobody would pay a 2nd for Montembeault, the track record is just not there

1st for Monahan is ambitious but he has looked good so far and i dont think its out of the question

the important point in the post is if they retain the form they are in. right know montenbeault is one of the best goalies in the league in terms of statistics and monahan plays like a good 2c.

Over a sample size of 4 games its not difficult to have those numbers on a hot team, but a backup goalie is never going to be worth more than a 3rd round pick, no matter how well they are playing. Monahan, with 50% retention, assuming he can keep this play up and not get injured, might get you a late 1st.

Montreal is not playing bad enough to pry the 2nd OA from teams like Arizona, San Jose, Anaheim St Louis Columbus... so sorry but Fantilli is not going your way.

St Louis won't stay thia bad forever and Montreal will finish bottom of the Atlantic and have good shot at Fantilli. Arizona, San Jose and Anaheim will all have to play each other so the race to the bottom will be closer that you're assuming

I don't know I think I'd bet good money Montreal finishes above the 5 worst teams in the NHL.
