I think that a trade could be done between Calgary and Habs because history show that both can deal together and get what wanted and need.


Xhekaj is move down to be in the limit of player up but could be call back when one or both of Toffoli / Tanev is move out.

Toffoli could be flip again to a containder team for a pick (first or second round) prospect (A or B) with some retain salary

Tanev could be use as a RHD player to help teach the young guy while giving them time to learn at they're own time or could be serve as an asset to flip to any other team who's in need of a defensive defenseman. we could obtain another First round pick with a prospect with this too i think.


I would prefer to go for a prospect like Dustin Wolf but i dont think that Calgary would want to move him out so i would target Pelletier next. I didnt know if i could ask a first round pick or a second pick from Calgary with this trade because i feel that we dont need to trade for Toffoli back and be the one with the ¨problem¨to move him out again . its probably a overpayment from Calgary but i'm not sure.

No that's not happening. I said Toffoli or Looch + a 2nd and a B prospect like Martin Pospisil or Walker Dueher. I also said Tanev would work even better and would reduce the rest of the cost but Treliving won't trade Tanev.

You've got Toffoli AND Tanev + an A prospect + a 2nd here. That's way too much. The only way Montreal might get Pelletier is if it's Looch + Pelletier and nothing else. Zary, Coronato and Wolf would be untouchable.

Bowey is of no interest to Calgary though Xhekaj would be. Throwing Xhekaj in would probably get Pelletier too but that won't happen. Montreal's GM could be committing career suicide if he trades Xhekaj now.

Toffoli is better than Anderson, and doesn’t have an anchor of a contract, yet you think you’re getting Tanev, a great prospect, AND a 2nd on top of Toffoli for him? Habs fans are something else

Bowery is there only to be a depth in case of injury. He got some NHL experience and could be the remplacement for the time of injury.


I knew that the second was to much but I still think that we don't need Toffoli back and I see him as if Calgary dump is contract to be able to obtain Anderson and also getting like 2m cap space after this trade which could help facilitate another to add something like at deadline.


I choose to take Toffoli and Tanev because of the cap space required to obtain Anderson and that I don't think Sutter would like to loose Lucic grit even if the guys have slow and don't make that much points I feel is more required that another offensive oriented player like Toffoli.


I hardly see Hughes be able to move Xhekaj out now that he's fan favorite. He fell into a category of player that the fans like to much and if there traded would probably be a riot.
