Blocked and reported 😂

Avs can’t afford to give up cost controlled pieces for a player they can’t re-sign.

HockeyIsMyPassion61 - Avs decline this trade that you just made up lmao

laugh First off it's just a suggestion, if Sakic wants Horvat it's going to cost Newhook and a 1st. You don't want Horvat it's your prerogative to turn it down.

with what cap space is sakic signing horvat with lmao

also technically true that those three teams would be closer to playoff contention, but two of them are currently in the basement. so i guess instead of missing the playoffs by 20 points they miss them by 2 points. good optics.

Not signing Newhook would afford them to pay Horvat, Both Byram and Newhook and bridge deals will probably cost them $7,000,000 combined they could afford Horvat if they move Girard.

You're competing against Colorado giving up Newhook and a 1st for Horvat you're not beating that offer.

There's rumblings that Yzerman might give up Kasper+Wallinder+ One of Berggren/Zadina and a 1st You're not beating that.

Columbus could easily outbid Toronto same with Buffalo.

No way Sakic gives up a 1st + Newhook for Horvatlaugh laugh laugh

MeetYourMakar Xqb15a turtlemountain

You guys giving up Newhook and a 2023 first for Horvat?

No. See @turtlemountain comment. People seem to forget that Sakic doesn’t like to move 1st rd picks, he only ever moved one when he got caught short in the goalie carousel in the summer of 21. Also last season into this year including the pre-season they have traded for 2 starting goalies, a top 6 forward, a top 4 dman, a bottom 6 forward using the aforementioned 1st, their top 3 d prospects, 2 second rd picks, 2 3rd picks, a 4th rd pick and a 5th rd pick. I mean they straight went for it and it worked. But you can’t do that every year and they can’t afford to trade cost controlled assets.

So then what they have to give up to re-sign Horvat is Newhook, Girard, and a 1st for a guy with one career 60pt season. Such an easy no, because what then the following year they lose Toews and their defense is Makar, Byram and 4 guys. Easy no.

Exactly. No Avs fan on here ever proposes that trade. Nobody in their right mind proposes that trade. And here you’re saying “You're competing against Colorado giving up Newhook and a 1st for Horvat you're not beating that offer.”

No. They aren’t competing against that. That’s not an offer on the table. Get it out of your mind.

Dude it was already offered by an Avs fan on another thread, For an extended Horvat. I'm only going by what they said. But i totally agree Sakic doesn't make that trade and Bo Horvat won't be wearing an Avalanche jersey anytime soon either.

Can you link me to what you’re referring to? Because consensus here is that that’s a gross overpay. And the Avs can’t afford Horvat extended unless they move Newhook and a top 4 defenseman. Not happening.

You can go back to weeks of people making the same proposal, all of which gets shot down.

Just look it up here, Can't be more then 2-3 pages from the front, Maybe i shouldn't say an AV fan proposed it because i'm not sure. but someone on here proposed newhook+1st round pick for an extended Bo Horat.

Why Myers is worth so much and why need retention? We have a ton of cap space.

My take was that BUF would acquire Myers and play him as a 3rd pairing guy (where arguably, he would have most success); you don't pay a 3rd pair $6M. The salary retention is an olive branch to get a better asset in return.

leaf don't need demko

leaf need horvat

Really? The Leafs don't need an elite, cost-controlled goaltender for the next 3 seasons. Yeah, Demko has been shaky this year, but having watching Canucks games, so much of that is the team around him giving up a ton of East-West passes in-zone, odd-man rushes and scrambly play. The guy literally doesn't know what read to make because his defense is so poor.

I know Avs won't pay it, it was an attempt to show a certain poster how ridiculous the proposal was.

The answer is no, he can't. Just one of the many wild takes he's had today alone.
