Yikes that is a milbury level trade from the isles. Horvat can’t even carry his own team to the playoffs, what makes you think he’ll do any different for the isles

Value is more than fair, but none of those players fill any needs for the Canucks. Maybe Dufour as another RH winger if we move Boeser/Garland or don’t keep Kuzmenko. One guy I’d be interested in from the Isles as a Canucks fan is Iskhakov

Not expecting him to carry the team. Nelson is his teams best scorer and we can move him to barzals wing without sacrificing depth down the middle.

Horvat has never played wing in the NHL - he’s also on a shooting bender, all NHL fans should know that guys who have never been elite scorers will eventually regress to the mean if they’re having a career year. Horvat would be lucky to score 5 goals in his last 30 games with the isles.

Not gonna put horvat on the wing. Putting Nelson on a wing with barzal.

This would definitely be a strong offer. Probably the most value the Canucks would get for Horvat. They may prefer a smaller package with one top end D or C prospect in it if that's available though.

Still a bad trade for the isles. A majority of Horvats value is going to be on the Canucks this season , he’s not shooting 21% for the rest of the season.

The isles aren’t 1 player away from contending and playoff teams do not have Josh Bailey on the top line. He’s a line killer

It’s also not Lou’s style to have anyone change positions mid season

But they are a goal scorer away from being cup contenders. This team made it to the conference finals two years in a row without a bonafide scorer and played well in the second half last year. This team has a good defense, a vezina caliber goaltender, plenty of depth and physicality, and a bunch of playmakers. Nelson scored 37 goals last year I think he can be good on barzys wing and horvat wouldn’t have to carry the team and sustain a 21% shooting percentage. As for Bailey on the top line it’s because I like palmieris chemistry with pageau and parise and wahlstrom is too much of a defensive liability to play on a line with barzal leaving only Bailey. This team made it to the conference finals with Leo freakin komorov on the 1st line I think they can survive having Bailey on a line with barzal and Nelson.

The ECF was a long time ago. Right now this team is a WC, 1st rd exit team. The isles are missing an elite top line left winger and a 2nd line rw

The only player the isles should be in on is a guy like Meier who has had multiple elite seasons and would compliment Barzal. No matter what the isles aren’t making a deep run this season, they have too many negative value players in the lineup (Cizikas, Bailey, Beau etc)

Wahlstrom has the best defensive impact in the top 9, Bailey has been the worst defensive forward in the NHL. Where are you getting your information from?

Wahlstrom and Barzal are out scoring teams 9-3 , barzals goal doesn’t happen without Wahlstrom. They rarely make bad defensive plays.

Fair offer.

But it doesn't help the Canucks one iota.

By what metric is he the best defender on the team. He turns the puck over all the time. There’s a reason he plays 10 minutes a game and we can’t blame it on Trotz being stubborn anymore.

By every defensive metric there is. Expected goals against, shots against. When was the last time he made a bad play that led to a goal? Bailey lost his man last game which resulted in a goal.

Lee is the only winger with more points than Wahlstrom, it’s an indictment on the coaching staff that he doesn’t play more. The isles score a ton of goals with Wahlstrom on the ice and they don’t give up many
