I don’t see this offer being appealing to or helping MIN whatsoever

I'd consider it if I was MN. Kappo is still interesting. Kravtsov hasn't impressed me, but is still young. Their ages also fit better for MN in whatever this weird rebuild/retool they are doing.

Zucc has been great, but he's old and being glued to Kap's hip has helped his stats a lot.

MIN isn’t in a rebuild and they’re not out of the playoffs at this point

They might consider trading Marcus Foligno for Kaako or Kravtsov + a 2nd, but not Mats Zuccarello

They are in a rebuild/retool, they just won't say so outloud. The team is mostly just spare parts.

Gonna stop this right now. Kakko might not be having the best points streak right now, but he's absolutely trending as a puck dominant 2 way forward. There is absolutely no way we move him at this point for less than connor mcdavid.
These offers for the rangers kids are insane.
Zucc also left and purposely didnt stay in dallas because it would hurt the rangers (who had a draft pick consideration to his re-signing).
Zucc harbors no positive feelings to them.

I agree that the notion of trading their young guys is just insane. While Kakko's #'s don't show any dominance, when you watch him play you clearly see that he's a possession beast. The points may or may not ever come- but what he contributes defensively and in terms of possession is bound to have a real positive effect on this team. But I do have to stop you there regarding his trade value. He does have a value- way short of McD, bye the way- but I don't think another team would offer it nor would NYR take it.

As far as Zuc...no grudges against him. He was a very good Ranger, and whatever feelings he may have toward the organization I'm sure are well earned via the negotiation process. But unless they could get him at a bargain (not happening), this move would be foolish- too many futures for a 35 yo.

As for Minnesota, we are (hopefully) in a silent rebuild. Or at least recognize we aren't a contender. That being said, Zucc is untouchable. His chemistry with Kaprizov is unmatched. Plus, it wouldn't be wise for an organization to upset it's lone superstar in franchise history by trading away his brother-in-arms.

If this were a video game trade, I'd accept. IRL, it's a no.

I was being very hyperbolic with the mcdavid talk. I just get sick of seeing offers like this where we don't even get better in the short term because people see kakko has less than 10 points...

Yeah- I figured that....but I guess the purpose of my response was to point out that Kakko does have a real value....a value which Ranger haters would probably scream about because his Goal and assist totals really don't indicate how good a player he is.

we dont even get better in the short term? Zucc is the perfect right wing for panarin both offensively and defensively and part of the deal is minny retaining 50% of his salary. Getting a point per game player for 1.75 years at $3m and instantly adds better roster balance including allowing them to drop goody to the 3rd line full time. Kakko has a bright future but with othman on the way and having to pay Kratsov in the offseason, it allows the team to get a plug and play vet who is loved in the city and the locker room, while also clearing out congestion of young wings that we are waiting to pop and take the next step. The window is now and there are other top prospects waiting in the wings for the opportunity to win a spot next year.
