Description
It’s not just trading Horvat. A rebuild means tearing down the team and moving out contracts over a period of a couple seasons. Trading EP is the real move for a rebuild.

Minnesota currently sits at 11th overall, no way are they moving their 2023 1st round pick.

As things stand, the Blues can't afford this. But since you have no 23 picks in the trade, feel free to check back next summer.

If you don’t do a rebuild then of course it’s stupid but the team is full of dead weight and isn’t going anywhere as constructed.

If you do a real rebuild that’s the exact kind of trade you’d make. If you want to keep the same stale team together then sure do nothing.

So we trade Pettersson no value? Johansson has a bad contract. Canucks aren’t even getting a single top caliber piece back. If you bother watching any of the Canucks games, you would know Pettersson is by far our best player. Trading him for the sake of trading him is moronic

Why bother with the retention of Dumba and Horvat. It only equals out to a $250k difference.

You’d be getting two highly touted young players at positions of need, not to mention draft picks.

Lets go ahead and trade our generational talent for a bunch of scraps. Oh yeah and ship Schenn out to a team in our division when we could get a second rounder from a team out east. And let's get worse on defence, if that's possible, in a trade for our captain.
