Description

With Ehlers and Appleton out long term, the Jets need to trade for a middle six winger to stay in playoff contention. With how the Canucks have been playing all year I'm sure they'd love to sell off garland. The Canucks have been in the market for a D man so why not have a reunion with Nate Schmidt. Schmidts contract is pretty ugly so the Jets give up a second and fifth in the trade too. If a Garland/Schmidt trade did in fact happen, I wouldn't be shocked if the Jets gave up another pick too.

As nice as Garland would be, with how the Jets are playing this year and how valuable defensemen have become in the league with all the injuries, there is likely no chance the Jets trade a roster defenseman.

I could see a deal, but it would need to be a futures deal from Winnipeg.

I could definitely see the same kind of trade happening but with someone like Samberg or Chisholm instead of Schmidt. Jets have a massive log jam on D

Would absolutely love to add Garland but I don't think the proposed package gets it done.
