(had another later, so it is 25 in last 30)

He's another one i wouldn't wanna lose, we did the right thing by not bringing him over right away and letting him develop over there. If he isnt traded I'd like to see him brought over and sent down to Utica to develop more, with any luck he'll be someone in the vein of Bratt for us

Fitzgerald has already said he will return to KHL next year.
He seems to be developing nicely over there.
My guess is he jumps straight to NHL in 2024-25 and skips AHL altogether.

Devils’ assistant GM reveals plan for prospects Luke Hughes, Shakir Mukhamadullin, more

Gritsyuk is a different story. The 21-year-old forward, who won the KHL’s rookie of the year award in 2022 after logging 22 goals and 38 points in 52 games, will likely stay in the KHL in order to develop his scoring abilities and become an instant-impact player upon traveling to North America in several years. “Little bit different there,” MacKinnon said. “Was rookie of the year last year in the KHL, smaller, skilled player. The thinking right now is that it can really benefit him, as a scoring forward, to continue to mature over there. Maybe spend another year or two. And we’ve seen that with guys like Kirill Kaprizov and Andrei Kuzmenkov. For that type of player, sometimes it’s better for them to mature, then step right into your NHL roster. Probably not coming over right away.”

Grier is F'n nuts, dont get me wrong Meier would fit in amazingly well for the Devils but he isnt worth 3/4 of some of the trades you see on here. If that really is the price then we should back off and just try to get him in the offseason because any of the other teams who are reportedly in on him cant sign him because of their own cap constraints

I can totally see the Devils pivoting here and targeting Niederiter if Grier continues to try and **** us. I think he’s be a good Tatar replacement.

So we've got a game tomorrow against philly, followed by 3 days off before we head out to play colorado, vegas and arizona.

Wondering if in that 3 day layoff we somehow get this Meier deal across the finish line so that he'll have time to get with his new team and start learning the new system. Its just a feeling i have but now would be the best time to pull the trigger on that deal.

With Meier and a few more tweaks we can make some serious noise in the playoffs this year
