Hawks decline, easily. That package lands Murphy, not Domi also.

1) Kerfoot and Holl are cap dumps as far as the Hawks are concerned. For the Leafs fans that don't agree, move them to a contender, as they will have negative value in any trade to Chicago. And no, the Hawks won't be able to flip them for much of any value because their retention slots will be full with kane, toews, and Domi or AA.
2) Murphy is worth a late 1st at a minimum on his own, maybe even a 3rd or 4th or decent prospect as well.
3) Domi is worth a late 2nd at 50% retained and only a $1.5M cap hit (prorated to less obviously against games played). I believe you are thinking this trade is for Hirvonen and in that case I can see it on paper making sense value wise.

I figured Hirvonen for Domi, 1st for Murphy.

Kerfoot and Holl's salaries are likely paid off ready, just need to spend a little time on Chicago's books. But I suppose Toronto can add a third for the trouble.

But idk still seems kinda light for vt

That value for murphy and Domi is really close...makes sense. But it's a requirement for Toronto to move out cap to make these moves, other teams know this, and no team is doing the other team a favor of eating cap for free...the money is non factor to the 3rd richest franchise in the league. Whether a 3rd is enough not sure, but if the Leafs can get value for either of them then they should go that route with another team.

Lastly, Murphy on the 3rd line would be a waste of him. He's a top 4 and on a thin team a top line guy. I'd argue he'd look better next to Reilly then Brodie and wouldn't put Sandin and Lillypad together either.

Don't know why they'd want Kerfoot, guys having a bad season on an expiring contract.

Robertson has a bright future in the NHL, and they can get a first for their troubles. Also, Engvall has been far better than Kerfoot as of late.

For a team looking to tank, I'd say swapping Domi and Murphy for Kerfoot and Holl is also a good way to increase your odds in the Bedard sweepstakes.

So I'd call it a win for everyone 😛

Not the worst thing I've seen, but no thanks. Tarasenko isn't available at the moment unless Army gets his socks knocked off.

Im not a fan of the player or the contract. I dont think he'd fit well with Toronto.
