Avs fans how much do I add

Description
Avs fans, please be realistic unlike many of us canucks fans, what would you look for in a deal for Girard centred around a winger like garland, or is it something you guys would be even interested in, we would have to sweeten the pot a little bit but it would not be anything crazy. Give me your price and your reasoning, and if you dont think it would work let me know why

also on Nate Mac throwing his helmet at garland, I think they'll get over it.

Is Girard really the type of defenseman Vancouver needs though?

Girard would easily be the 2nd best defenseman in Vancouver imo. Maybe not a great idea to pair him with Hughes though. Girard’s biggest weakness is net front game. He also generally plays LD.

As for Garland, apparently the MacKinnon/Garland history goes all the way back to when they both were students at Shattuck. I guess there’s some bad blood there.

Aside from interpersonal conflict, Avs don’t have any need for a winger like Garland. He’d be stuck on the 3rd line. Avs are better off keeping the young top 4 defenseman.

there is bad beef with Garland and MacKinnon so hes not an option
and Boeser contract will be more than Girards which hurts the avs cap situation going foward

Just not really trade fits

in a vacuum, talent-wise Boeser for Girard is pretty even. But the Avs don't need a wing. They need a center. And Boeser makes more than Girard. Avs need that $$ to pay Byram and Newhook next year and then hopefully the cap rises enough to keep Toews the next year. I've been trying to figure out a Horvat deal, but nothing makes sense for the Avs.

based on mackinnons personality, I dont think that guy lets anything go, hes way too intense
this is a guy who will cuss out his own teammates during practice, people that he likes.

Ok sounds good, Girard might not be the one that the canucks end up with, but it could be a situation where the canucks are the intermediate of a 3 way trade where they get a young RD from a team like LA and then a pick. I was thinking along the lines of

To COL
Brock Boeser

To LAK
Sam Girard

To Van
Helge Grans
LAK 2nd

I think that they're adults they can work it out, Yes Nate Mac is nuts but if they were on the same team he would make sure things were worked out. Teammates fight in practice on a yearly occurrence, one tilly and theyre good to go. But thats besides the point because we have worked out this trade wont work

this has gone back almost a decade, if he hasn't let it go, im going to assume hes not goign to let it go if he is his teammates
whatever this beef is, clearly it bothers him still today

and youre right, positionally it doesnt really work for the avs

Neither is a fit for the Avs as they're wingers and if the Avs want/need anything its a centre, so the Avs decline. TThe Avs also decline because it's Garland in the one case as stated by others above, and Boeser in the other case because of cost. Simple as that.

Nope. Canucks do not need another small offensive defensemen. The Canucks need a sturdy, shut down guy who can get the puck out of the zone and play to the boards. We need a Hamhuis or Bieksa type guy.

I think that the canucks could be a good middle man in a trade though, maybe send out boeser or garland and facilitate girard going to LAK and the canucks can get a pick and a prospect
