Well, there’s a lot of other things at play here - term, team quality etc.

If Kane had four years left, don’t think I would want his contract either.

A first line winger has more wiggle room to be one-dimensional than a top pair d man. A guy that gets $8M basically has to be a top pair d man in the cap era.

I would do this trade for the Habs side assuming Carslon would accept, which he probably wouldn't. Listen, both teams know what they are getting but I can't watch another Habs garbage PP do nothing and Carlson at the very least is good at that still so I'll take the chance on Carlson over Anderson.
