Really don't like the length of Murphy's contract. But think he would be a good partner for Power. Plus with nothing coming up the pipeline, he can cover for 3 or 4yrs until Adams can build that part of the organization.

Why don't you like it? On the contrary, we need a guy with a term, why do we need a player for 1-2 years? We don't even have anyone in the pipeline to replace him in the future.

Just that with the style he plays, 33 comes quick

Hawks decline. The value is right, but Mitts and Weisbach aren't the right pieces. Mitts at this point is a 3C, and at 24, doesn't fit the Hawks rebuild timeline at all. Weisbach (same age as Mitts) has put up numbers everywhere he's played, but still hasn't played in the NHL. That's a concern, along w/ his small size. That 2nd and a good, young F prospect probably get a deal done.

Well 33 not 36-37, maybe the last year of his contract would have been difficult, but who knows. Murphy is not ideal, but looks like a good fit.

While I think Adams could target someone in the UFA this summer, there will be quite a few interesting options for the top 4 RD.

I'd have to research this a little more, but I was thinking guys like Rosen, Bloom, Kisakov, Nadeau. A guy who's 18-20. Seems like the Sabres pool of these type players is very deep. Hawks pool is really shallow.

Probably Bloom or Kisakov. Sorry not trading Rosen for Murphy and I already traded Nadeau for Crouse

Make it Mitts AND Bloom + the 2023 (PHI) 2nd rounder and I might be ok with it. At the same time, I have very much been looking forward to seeing more of that chemistry between him and Korchinski that we saw in training camp, when Korchinski goes pro. Also, seeing as we don't really have anyone available, IMO, to take on that second pairing RHD role, I am hesitant to trade Murphy. I'm not sure a "fair value" trade is gonna get him out of CHI, if we can even call that fair value. Unless Davidson is planning on tanking again next season and just handing the bottom two RHD roles to Regula and Mitchell. Which also wouldn't surprise me. But it all depends on what the plan is.

Think we could get something worked out in those parameters
