It all depends on toews, he has a full nmc, if he hand picks a team he wants to go to, if he wants to go at all, the hawks will have to try to get the best deal they can if they ask toews to be moved. If he agrees and then the don’t trade him bc they tried to grind out a little more value, that’s not how you treat one of the hawks all time greats

Toews is not doing anything that deserves a 1st. I get he means a lot to your team/fans but that doesn't mean other gm's hold any sentimental value towards another team's player.

I hope the Avs don't do it but on the face of it, it's pretty reasonable value.

Hawks accept - the JJ for a 5th trade. They decline the Toews trade pretty easily. Toews is playing really well again this season. If he continues like this, he's worth way more than a 2nd that's 3 drafts away and 2 mid level prospects.
