The problem is who. With San Diego mired in last place in the AHL it's not like anyone down with the Gulls is playing lights out. I guess Groulx has decent stats (haven't been to a game yet) so maybe him. If it's a guy like Gawdin instead I wouldn't get too excited by it personally.

Tracey or Perreault I think. They have to get some time eventually

They can't be worse than Grant in the top 6 or Silfverberg on PP2, so sure. I just wish either had earned a call up rather than handing them one because everyone else sucks right now.

Axel Andersson has a +8 somehow with the gulls over 16 games played. Unfortunately I can't find any TOI values for them to understand if he is being sheltered or if he is good defensively and is keeping pucks going the right way.

I know +/- is not a great stat, but he is one of three guys on the team with a positive value right now, and the only defender, plus he shoots right. Maybe its time to give him a cup of coffee with the big club.

Seriously though, WTF happened to the Gulls? The wheels fell off that canoe right quick.

The team wasn't very good last season, whole new coaching staff, quite a bit of roster turn over and most of the Ducks great 23-and-under pipeline plays some where else.

On the last point you've got the kids already in Anaheim. Drysdale, Zegras and McTavish. Then the kids too young. Zellweger, Mintyukov, Gaucher, Hinds, Warren and Luneau. Then the NCAA kids.

I wasn't expecting a great year from the Gulls, but just like Anaheim they are underachieving even my low expectations.

Or they can pluck season savior Jayson Megna off waivers. FML, this is going to be a long miserable ride.

Just gearing up for the good years — at least what I’m telling myself
