Honestly like how this works for both teams.

  1. 2023 5th round pick (EDM)
  2. 2024 4th round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
Leafs get a contract spot and save 1750000 while getting a few picks
EDM
  1. Kerfoot, Alexander ($1,750,000 retained)

Unless we are replacing Kerfoot I’d rather keep him. He is still invaluable on the PK. Everyone needs to start paying more attention to how valuable players are on the PK. PowerPlay numbers seem to keep going up in todays NHL.

I really don’t understand this proposal, why would we trade him? Why would we retain? And why would trade with retention for that underwhelming return?
Why do you think we need cap space?

Uhmm the leafs are clearly a better team with kerfoot than without kerfoot. Why trade him without a replacement?

its not even like its really a cap space move, he retained 50%, I don't understand this at all

Just to add to your comment. Yeah the Leafs save 1.75m half retained, then they have to replace Kerfoot with even 750,000 player Hardly a big saving.

Yep, not much different than waiving him.
