Buffalo's not even making the playoffs this year, So no way are they even buyers.

And that's not even close to landing Carter Hart.

Well, Crouse is better than Josh Anderson -- and cheaper -- so I guess we can thank Habs fans for ruining the market for crappy overpaid powerfowards.

You can't do conditional picks on player signing any more under the CBA

Or we can just trade for neither as neither are good

Crouse is a fantastic 3rd liner imo. 4.3 million is way too high for him though

The team as is won't make the playoffs but you do realize they are 6 points out of the wild card, they're one of the highest scoring teams in the league, with better goaltending a tighter D and improving the third line scoring the wild card is not out of the question. They had a bad stretch that caused them to lose ground but they've beat your Detroit team twice and you are in the wild card position. It's a long season and if Adams gives the kids the help needed I think they have a shot at a wild card spot.
Samuelsson has made Dahlin a better player, Schenn can do the same for Power. When the Sabres had that losing streak Samuelsson was out of the line up...add another defensive D-man like Schenn and it tightens the defense up.

If Philly wants to rebuild, Bedard is a good start and maybe my value isn't right but trading Hart is a perfect way to getting down to 32nd. Where would Detroit be without Husso who was acquired for a 3rd?
NJ without Vanecek who came with a 2nd for a 2nd and 3rd? Bottom line is goalies don't go for huge returns anymore. Hart is a starter but if you are thinking a 1st is going back I would say you are dreaming.

Might be an overpay but the Sabres are set at center and yes he can move to wing but with Savoie probably here next year and Kulich not far behind, you sometimes have to give to get to cover an area of need. I doubt replacing Ostlund with Rosen would do it. 90% of the Sabres ACGM's want Mitts traded (probably the least favorite player since he has been a Sabre) . Arizona does have Cooley and Geekie on the horizon so maybe a center would not be as big a need. If they end up trading Chychrun they may want to collect young D-men prospects but thats one area the Sabres are short on. You tell me what Crouse is worth

You either aren't or can't (Skinner) trade any of the top 6 which will all be here for an extended period of time and with all the prospects we now have you need to use a couple of them to acquire established talent. Not saying Crouse makes us a SC contender but he does improve the 3rd line with secondary scoring and size.
