This doesn't make sense for the Rangers. They already have the Dallas first from the Lundkvist deal to go get Kane if they wanted to. There's no reason to give up a former 1st overall pick and one of their blossoming young forwards for Robertson, 2 cap dumps, and a late 1st. Chytil has been one of the young forwards that has consistently been good when he has played. Lafreniere is such a large talent that this just isn't enough to consider for him.

Horrible idea for NYR. We give you our best and most consistent young players and we get a late first and struggling young player that is hurt by the way. Don’t you see how one sided this proposal is?

Your Robertson is basically our Kravtsov. Struggling youngster (that may still not be a bust), that hasn't made the most of their opportunities. And whose value is relatively low.

Add in the expiring Contracts of two "mehh" players that your fan base has been looking to unload for numerous Seasons.

Then a mid to late 1st Rounder.

For 2 of our younger Forwards. That you're obviously trying to poach, because they haven't hit the #'s that everyone expected of them by now.

Even if one of them were to be moved, it would be for a positive return to help the team. These guys don't accomplish that.

the first trade is bad value for the rangers and bad for the leafs on the ice as it literally makes them worse and that vancouver trade is horrific for the leafs. Luke Schenn is worth a 3rd max at deadline prices, adding anything else is just comical
